In memory of Dr Justin Amery
The Amery Family
Fundraising in memory of Dr Justin Amery
My Story
As many of you know Justin (or Dr Justin as he was always known to his colleagues) had a real passion for children’s palliative care. He worked firstly at Helen House, then in various settings within Africa ( with 2 years in Uganda) and latterly spent many years supporting patients, families and staff at Keech Hospice Care. Your donations will continue his legacy.
If you would like to make a donation at this time, and perhaps leave a message, we will ensure that your donation is used for things that we are certain Justin would have approved of.
Funds will be used to improve the outdoor courtyard at the children’s in-patient unit at Keech Hospice. This courtyard is surrounded by the bedrooms and enclosed for safe play. It has a sensory theme which is enjoyed by many of the children and their families, but use is restricted in very sunny weather due to a lack of shade and a permanent seating area. We would like to upgrade this area so that it can be used year round for families and staff to sit for quiet moments, or for when families come together to enjoy each other’s company and create happy memories.
Donations will also be used for an award, in Justin’s name, to support staff from the hospice to attend courses and conferences, continuing his amazing work as a teacher and as an advocate for learning.
Any additional funds will be used to continue the incredible care delivered by all staff at Keech Hospice.
With many thanks from Justin’s family, friends and colleagues.
